Cardamon Resto

5 days ago, me and my friends were recommended by a friend to eat at Cardamon. Before we decided to go, we had had collected info from some websites. "Eat all you can!" That's the motto of Cardamon.

When we got there, there was no enough space for us so we had to wait before we got to be seated. We took a walk while we were waiting. A few minutes later they called us by phone.

When we went inside was when we figured that they did not have that many choices of food. There were sushi, kinds of rendang, cow ribs, beef teppan, cap cay, sapo tahu, spicy chicken, corn crab soup, salad, 4 types of juice, and dessert. Because we didn't know what was on the menu besides the food that was already provided on the table, we asked a waitress for the menu. The waitress said that there was no menu. Thankfully, my friend had already read an article in some websites so he knew what food we could order there. We ordered dim sum, buntut fried rice, goat fried rice, fried noodles, and last was ice cream. All those food tasted okay; nothing special. The dishes tasted like there was too much MSG in them that made us thirsty the whole time we were eating. Well, I couldn't really say what the dim sum tasted like since we ordered it several times but it never came to our table. Overall, the service was horrible. For the second time we ordered fried rice, a waiter mistook our order of buntut fried rice for the goat one. The long wait and then the mistaken order delivery. Not long before we finished, a waiter came to us and said that by 5 pm we had to leave since our seats were booked by another party. I was surprised when he told me that since they didn't warn us about it previously. The prices were 77k++ for food and 22k++ for drinks. 30% off applied if paid using BCA credit cards.

Considering the bad services, just-okay taste, and the pretty high price, me and my friends agreed that we would definitely not be going to Cardamon ever again.

Sushi Tei

Twice in a week, me and my friends had dine at Sushi Tei (restaurant of Japanese cuisine). We went to Sushi Tei at Senayan City and Plaza Senayan. When we entered these two restaurants, the atmosphere between Sushi Tei at Senayan City and Plaza Senayan felt different. Senayan City is cozier than Plaza Senayan, but Sushi Tei at Plaza Senayan is more crowded than Senayan City that we had to wait outside for few minutes. Inside the restaurant, there is small sushi bar where the plate is moving surrounding the bar just like in Japan.

Some people thought sushi is identical with raw food. But not all sushi served uncooked. Sushi Tei menu is so various.

I tried several dishes. I like it all. Salmon, tuna, crab, scallop, shrimp, eel, etc. is suitable for seafood lovers. I barely remember each menu name because it's Japanese name. From the dishes I tried, I love boiled scallop the most while my friend loves Crispy Crunchy Roll. When I ate it I felt sea breeze in my mouth... Oishi!


There is one dish that I don't recommend. It is seaweed named Chuka Wakamee. Although I'm a big fan of seaweed, I don't recommend this. Just like its name, it tasted weed.

Every menu has different plate color. The plate color is sign of price.

It's important to be smart choosing menus, so you won't be over budget.

With free ocha drink that can be refilled, you don't have to pay for drinking tea too much. Beside the main dishes, Sushi Tei also has dessert menu like Watermelon Sherbet, Sake, Ice Balls, etc. You should try the dessert.

When I was at Senayan City, several times they served wrong dishes on our table. Overall the services is fine.

Vegetable Noodles

Vegetable noodles aren't noodles with a lot of vegetables inside. Not only put vegetables to accompany the noodles, the noodles are made from vegetables instead. Vegetables that become ingredients are spinach and carrot. You can see what do the noodles contain from its color. Green from spinach, yellow from carrot.

When you eat vegetable noodles, you will smell vegetable flavor. The noodles texture is a little bit different for it contains vegetable fiber. The sauce taste just like common noodles.

With price Rp 7,000.00 you can order one bowl of vegetable noodles with chicken chops. If you want the noodles added with pangsit or meatballs, you have to pay more Rp 2,000.00 for it.

You can find vegetable noodles near BiNus University Anggrek Campus, West Jakarta.

Vegetables -> good for stomach.

Fruit Soup

Global warming, heat in the daylight. Wanna something fresh? Try cold "Fruit Soup".

Mixed of fresh fruits in a bowl. The fruits are strawberries, guavas, apples, pears, and star fruit. Served cold with ice rocks, plus added with basil seeds and jellies. The sauce taste like sweet soursop.

You can find it near BiNus University Anggrek Campus, West Jakarta. The price is only Rp 6,000.00.

But sometimes you will be notice that they served inconsistence. I'd ever missing guavas. My friend had ever missing basil seeds. Hope it'll never happen to you.

Gokana Super Extra Hot Ramen

After I've got SMS from Esia told that Esia user may get free one bowl of Gokana Super Extra Hot Ramen, I think nothing to lose if I try eating it again (what? again???). Imagining its sauce passing through my throat already made my stomach feel ill. But.. since it tasted good and free, why not then.

The second time I eat it, I surprised its smell and taste are not as hot as the first time. Now I figure out why my friends told me it's easy to win Gokana extra hot ramen challenge. Gokana is inconsistent in adding chilli. Gokana should concern about its chilli quality.

The noodles taste just like ordinary noodles. The spice flavour suitable with indonesian tongue. With less meat, the price is a little bit high. But, if you win the challenge, you will get one beef package menu which it means you will get 2 menus by paying ramen only for price around 22,000 Rupiahs.

Beside the prize, I was smile when the waiter yelled "Ganbatte!". It's fun doing this challenge.
